As barczy01 said check the cooling fan operation.

Explain what you mean by 'runs hot'

What is the outside temp?

Have you checked the water pump belt?

Have you checked the air purge line that it is clear?

Please answer my questions above.

Lift the hood, AC off, idle the engine, till up to 192 or normal temp.  Have someone turn on the AC, watch the fans see if they kick into high.

Both fans should run on high

Check for codes that may be set and report any P codes here.  If you dont know how to check for codes ask, we will tell you how

It is possible you think the temp is high when it isn't high, we have seen that before.

Do you have an analog gauge or digital gage?

Look this over and monitor your fan operation

The PCM will command fan operation when:

  • Low Speed Fan Operation
    • Engine coolant temperature exceeds approximately 106°C (229°F).
    • Transmission fluid temperature exceeds 150°C (302°F).
    • A/C operation is requested.
    • After the vehicle is shut OFF if the coolant temperature at key-off is more than 151°C (304°F) and system voltage was more than 12 volts. The fans will stay ON for approximately 3 minutes.

The fans will switch from low to OFF when the coolant drops below 102°C (216°F).

  • High Speed Fan Operation
    • Engine coolant temperature reaches 112°C(234°F).
    • Transmission temperature is more than 151°C (304°F).
    • When certain DTCs set.

The fans will switch from high to low (except DTCs set) when the coolant drops below 106°C (229°F).

Oh, I misunderstood you when you said digital gage.

Ok, so I gather that, with the AC on, it can idle all day and stay at 12 o'clock temp, correct?

But, once you start driving, the temp rises, 2 to 3 lines?  When this happens what are the cooling fans doing?, they should be blazing away on high.

85 degree outside temp.

Have you checked the water pump belt?

Ok, you need to lift the hood next time it runs hot and look behind the radiator and if the engine is hot, those 2 fans should be obviously loud.

Is this a sudden overheating problem since you changed the thermostat?

Yea it just started back overheating then i change the tstat nd antifreeze nd it ran good for a while then one day just went hot on me everytime i turned ac on

Today after i changed the tstat nd let it ran nd it ran hot i let it cool down nd added water the first time nd went round the block twice nd it ran hot wit ac on i cam back parked it nd i put more dexcool in it nd i took the top off the coolant tank nd the two side on it i squeezed them down a lil bit i just droved over 30miles wit the AC on nd no over heating

Ok, you need to check to see that the air purge line is clear, if it is clogged air can't get out of the cooling system.  This especially become a.problem on a cooling system refill.

There is a hose that crosses from the coolant tank to the crossover.  It is located near the top of the tank, not the overflow hose, the other 3/8 hose.  When the engine is COOL.   Remove the clamp if there is one, and gently remove that hose and direct it into a coffee can, have a helper if you can start and idle the engine.  A stream of coolant should flow from that hose into the coffee can.  If not, the air purge is clogged, let me know the outcome and if its clogged, I'll tell you how to clear it
