eddiekaz
Hi. I have a clear brown fluid, leaking from the very front of the car. The drops I'm seeing are up by the front bumper. About a foot across, and usually 4 or 5 one inch round drops in that foot. Is it oil, or do I have another problem? The drops do have an oily feel. Thanks for any opinions!! 2004 Deville. barczy01
The front bumper has 2 mini impact shocks on the body attached to the bumper for a crash. On some of these older cars I have seen these shock leaking. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Logan
Not to be a buzzkill.....but I don't think the 2004 Deville uses impact absorbing shocks up front. Most of those went away with chrome bumpers. There is a impact bar and bracket. BodybyFisher
Not 100% sure about 2004 but prior models had a power steering fluid cooler up there, check the cooler, its hoses and clamps. And power steering fluid is brown over time Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
barczy01
Logan your correct. The power steering lines do run along the front of the subframe. I would maybe check the lower trans cooler line fitting with the snap ring connect. The oring in the push fit connector deteriorates overtime and will leak trans fluid.
