Blakes Eldorado
hello all, my cruise control doesn't work, no lights on the dash. I tried two different modules without any luck. I was told the blinker stalk had power as well as power to the module. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance........Blake
rockfangd
Welcome to Caddyinfo. You likely have a bad connection somewhere between the stalk and cruise control unit. I might also mention you may have a bad brake switch. Are your brake lights working properly? I will post a wiring diagram to help you trace the circuits GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile

Blakes Eldorado
Thanks I will check the brake light first. On another note my brother who owned the car before me,said that the cruise worked before the dealership changed the motor, don't know if that means anything but it's all the info I have on this
Logan
The Eldorado was going away in 2002....so the steering column was a carried over older GM Saginaw style column used since the early 70's. The actual turn signal stalks can go bad. We used to keep a new stalk around as a testing unit. You can actually plug in a replacement for testing without removing the old one. They can be replaced fairly easily.
