jocharbr
My check engine light comes on & then will go off after I drive a while. The only code that I get is the current IPM B0429 Problem: the engine will not idle above 450-525 & will die frequently when I stop. Is this a air filter problem (I checked it and it looks OK) or do I need to pay Cadillac $2,000.00 to fix the problem?
JimD
My check engine light comes on & then will go off after I drive a while. There will be be one or more "P" codes stored as HISTORY. Either tell us what the history "P" codes are, or display the codes during the time the check engine light is on. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! rockfangd
kind of sounds like a fuel filter or pump, but there isnt much info to go off of. isnt IPM for the instrumennt panel? There is pcm codes if the SES light comes on but if it doesnt always stay on they will go to history GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
Ranger
It's not your air filter. Try a good TB cleaning. I suspect that will solve your idle problem.
Texas Jim
The only B0429 I find in my list is........ B0429 - Temperature Control #3 Rear Circuit Range/Performance
Cadillac Jim
Check your FPR. It can cause stalls at idle and hard starting when hot. Sometimes you can smell fuel under the hood or in the exhaust. But a mild case will just cause occasional stalls and a little harder hot starting with no codes. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
