Ranger
That's the default mode. You have a vacuum leak. First be sure you have vacuum supplied to the line going through the firewall on the passengers side. If you don't the problem is under the hood. If you do, it's under the dash. BodybyFisher
The one that does down and connects to the black canister under the RF headlight connects directly to the canister, there are no hoses, its nylon tubing. There is a T at the top, and a one way check valve, I would just make sure that all those hoses are connected and there are no cracks. The next step would be to get under the dash on the passenger side and see how the hose looks that comes through the firewall, where it connects You can use a hand held vacuum pump with gage on it to test the integrity of the hoses going to the tank, you can buy one at sears Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

BodybyFisher
I would check for vacuum at the connector under the dash. Does your parking brake release when the selector is placed in DRIVE? Does your parking brake release when the selector is placed in DRIVE? No i have to release my parking brake manually... Well the parking brake is part of the vacuum system Do you have a vacuum gage?, if you do, hook it up at various locations on that vacuum line to check for vacuum.
