AUSTINCTS1
I have a scratch on the right front quarter panel, about 2". I used the touch up paint from the dealer and it looks better, and hard to notice it, but I NOTICE IT. Any tips on how to make it look a little better, short of paint job? Second, I noticed a shallow indention, size of a nickle. No scratch, almost nothing. But again, I NOTICE IT. I've seen ads on TV showing a mechanism that can pop these kind of thing out, but does anyone have a suggestion. Again, It wouldn't bother me MUCH to leave it alone. Thanks in advance. Cadillac Jim
I would get the car detailed at a place that is comfortable with vacuum pulling of dents (painless dent repair). -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Texas Jim
As for smoothing out the touch up paint.... you might try a small amount of POLISH (not wax) on a BARELY DAMP cloth. DO NOT USE COMPOUND. It may/will scratch the clear coat. Rub the area of the touch up paint .... mostly RIGHT ON the touch up paint. If it hasn't been on there too long, the polish should smooth it out quite a bit. I have used this method a lot, down thru the years, but usually within about an hour of applying the touch up paint... while it is still fairly soft. BE CAREFUL...Do not rub hard enough to scratch the clear coat around the scratch. Don't ask how I know THAT. As Jims_97_ETC said, A paintless dent removel place can probably pop out the dent for just a few bucks. Also, if you don't want to try to do the scratch yourself, they can probably do that too. jking220
I would get the car detailed at a place that is comfortable with vacuum pulling of dents (painless dent repair). They can also do it with dry ice. Jonah

Texas Jim
They can also do it with dry ice. I had some hail dents that the body guy got out with dry ice. He heated the dent with a heat lamp.... then put a piece of dry ice right in the center of the dent. Popped them right out. Was kinda cool watching him make the dents disappear on my Fleetwood Brougham.
