Eldorado 1971 8.2L OHV V8 (500 ci)

hello,

I wanted to take my 1971 Cadillac Eldorado for a spin last weekend, when i turned the key i could hear the engine truning, but it didn't start, then i pumped some gas with the speeder, and after some time the engine started.
What can be the problem? - When the engine is warm the car starts right away though.

Thanks
Casper

Choke out of adjustment? If on a cold engine, the choke plate does not snap closed when you press the throttle it will have a very hard time starting when cold.
