Caddyinfo Vinyl decal

49 posts in this topic

I cut out a CaddyInfo vinyl decal and added to my ATS-V rear window. The letters are individual vinyl decals on the outside of the rear quarter window.

I will see how they wear test.  They apply together so no need to align each letter etc

Texas heat :excl:   It's gonna curl like Shirley Temples hair :paint2:

You may have to send a test sample to WA state for the water test :)

I like it, What is the scale? No reference

I cut this one about 1" tall letters so around [edited] 4.5"x1" but each decal could be up to 12" in one dimension, any color.

yes I am interested to see how it holds up.  I will also shop some window cling material but most windows are tinted.

This is Oracal 651 vinyl which the mfr claims will go 6 years.

I am thinking send these out to who wants them once I make sure they "work" okay.  I cut 4 of these to keep from wasting material but can make as many as needed.

I have some vinyl lettering on our store sign which is in the sun most of the day ( when it is sunny ) and they last about 3 years. Once they start to curl they don't stay on long.

Window film might be different though.

refresh every 3 years is easy enough.  Not sure if they will survive carwash etc but I think you had it right to start -- which is send out some and replace as needed with updated vinyl

@OldCadTech I did my vinyl sticker for the ATS-V 4.25" x 1" in matte white with just the CaddyInfo.com letters.  I'd like to experiment on other choices -- is there a size and color you would use?

caddyinfo.png

I am also experimenting with other designs like this one (without the ruled lines)

CaddyInfo Cadillac Information.png

Although I think that would have to be largish.

Talk Cadillac CaddyInfo.png

this one might make an ok 3" tall design.

I really like the bottom one without the "Talk".

I'm thinking about 8-10" x 3" tall would be an okay proportion for LR door glass.

I like the "CaddyInfo.com" all by itself too.

The red as you have it would look good on the red STS. Probably would look good on the black 02 also :shaka:

Have you considered the design on the top of this page without the car or the Cadillac crest.

Could you overlay like that?

The red lines are actually cut lines above -- the decal is white in the images in my previous posts; sorry I did not explain that better.

Here is the lettering from the logo pulled out, and shown in red vinyl with no cut lines.

caddyinfo decal print b.png

So the sticker would have only the red lettering shown, no background.

Oracal 651 vinyl spec & colors: http://www.orafol.com/gp/americas/en/products/plotter-films-product-details-10187/items/oracal-651-intermediate-cal

Color card: http://www.orafol.com/gp/europe/en/support/colour-cards/oracal-651-intermediate-cal

That one is easy to get and inexpensive; the 951 is more permanent but 8 yrs vs 6 yrs seems immaterial although as you say perhaps it is like tires where you get 1/2 of mfr claim?

Oh, LOL My error, I liked the red outline script. i also forgot about the stationary glass on the STS rear doors which is probably a better, although smaller ( 9" total, but 8" width would look better) area for placement. Not sure how the lettering would react to the window movement.

I agree, the 651 vs 951 advantages wouldn't be significant.

Would it be possible to add ".com" to the logo above and then center "cadillac information" ?

Design View. I think www is a given and it would force smaller letters for same size overall

Not at all, don't mention it, my reply was abrupt, I was on my smartphone.

I recall Cadillac owners doing a beautiful script banner for the back window that I liked.   I think it was just www.cadillacowners.com in script, it was very nice, do you recall?  I have that saved someplace if I recall

I agree with Mike, WWW is way too busy.

Nah, the last one doesn't have the .com

Okay, another idea - How about the caddyinfo.com in the cursive script, with the cadillac information in the same script as above?

The Cursive Script makes the text thin, but if we reverse the roles and put the CaddyInfo.com inside the CADILLAC INFORMATION it works.
