russell
My '07 Escalade, when accelerating from a light will hesitate but not stall. Everything seems to go dead and "Traction Active" will come up on the dash information display. When I let up fully on the gas pedal and attempt to re-accelerate everything seems fine. Any ideas? Bruce Nunnally
Hesitation generally is too much or too little fuel, or spark at the wrong time. However, the 'traction active' could indicate just that -- your traction control is coming on. Are the tires spinning? Are your rear tires worn? If the tires are not spinning but the traction control is on I would expect you will see codes for an acceleration sensor. Can you post what DTCs you are seeing? BodybyFisher
Have your battery load tested and check the connections at the battery terminals for corrosion. It sounds like the battery may be weak or power may be intermittent and not able to provide current to the coils on acceleration, then recovers. OldCadTech
To me it sounds like an accelerator potentiometer problem but I agree with Bruce, we need the DTC's. BodybyFisher
We need more explanation of this statement "Everything seems to go dead" and the codes. Does the dash black out?, lights flicker?. or is this just a BOG, HESITATION? @OldCadTech is correct, that hesitation is like the old accelerator pumps in carbs where the leather/sometimes rubber seal folded upward and caused a BOG/Hesitation, and an intermittent throttle position switch signal can mimic it.
