The options should be programmable through the IPC. @BodybyFisher I think has a SM for a 94 wait for him ( or someone who owns a 94 STS ) to respond.

note that the keyless entry system is completely different between a 94 and a 96. Different remotes, programming, etc...

Sorry for the lacking post. I was very short on time when I posted it.

Anyway the 95- IIRC had a keyless entry unit in the trunk somewhere and there was a program wire in the trunk that had to be grounded and it would cycle the unit (ie cycle the door locks)

then the fob could be programmed. It has been awhile since I have dealt with one but I bet I still have a bunch of the remotes around. The remotes were square with white buttons. I will look into it some more.

I may be wrong but I did not think the RFA was available in the IPC until late 95 or for sure by 96. Then by 99 you could no longer program your own remotes

1994 Cadillac Key Fob Programming Instructions

1994 DeVille, Seville, Eldorado

Ignition in on position....engine not started.

Locate black wire coming from the trunk pull down assembly in trunk Ground this wire....locks will cycle lock and unlock within a few seconds to acknowledge programming mode

Press the unlock button on remote 1 twice within 20 seconds Locks will cycle lock and unlock within a few seconds to acknowledge programming

At this time press the unlock button on remote 2 twice within 20 seconds Locks will cycle again to acknowledge programming

If you do not have 2 remotes use remote 1 two times. Both procedures must be followed or you may cause your remote system to become inoperable.

This entire procedure needs to be started within 30 seconds of grounding wire or you will have to start all over.

Thanks @rockfangd ,

I may be mixing RFA transmitter replacement with function programming. The light flash and horn honk may not have been available in 94. That's why I referred to the SM or another owner.

Holding Off & Warmer buttons will get you into diagnostics and scrolling through to RFA will get you to the Remote Function Actuator, If it's not there the only way to get the feature is to install an after-market alarm system.

I think it's safe to say that the '94 does not have it as an option. @BodybyFisher couldn't locate it in the SM.

Install an after-market alarm, most include the feature.

  • 2 months later...

remember those days.

Ground that wire and clickety click goes the locks and then you hit a button and listen for confirmation.

It has been awhile since I did one
