1990Eldo losing HP, sputters to catch up.

So we're new owners of a 90Eldorado, it sat for bout 2 years, we put in a new battery, distrib.cap, flushed and changed fluids, plugs points, had a bad fuel injector so had to replace all 8 of them, and a new starter and last but not least a new computer brain, programmed the right way! The thing is, when I go to accel. The engine has to catch up with itself to get moving now, it sputters and acts and sounds like it's gonna die, even in idle. Also, there is a "rubbing" sound, my wife drives mostly but as a passenger it sounds like the noise is coming from the front right tire rubbing, nbut it's not....there is NO rubbing on the tire anywhere. Please help i am stuck

You say, the engine has to "catch.up with itself to get moving"

I take that to mean that the transmission is not shifting up, as if its stuck in a gear and the engine freewheels.  

I have see shift solenoids do this and a sprag in the transmission go bad and cause it.  The noise you describe leans toward a sprag

Take it to a reputable mechanic or tranny shop for them to simply evaluate the problem.

Sounds like TPS problem with the tip-in hesitation. The right front tire rubbing sound could be a front hub.

For the hub diag, raise both front wheels off the ground and with the vehicle at idle put it in gear and listen at the hub for noise. Use a mechanics stethoscope or put the handle of a LONG screwdriver to your ear and place the other end on the knuckle. You can do this with the tires off, be sure to snug the rotor down with a lug nut if you run it with the wheel off.

Check for codes as @BodybyFisher suggested and post ALL of them here...

Opps, I just looked at the 90 in cadillac.history, I goofed the 91 had the 4T60 and the sprag would self destruct in it and the tranny freewheeled to a.certain rpm, I drove my 91 that way about 10 miles. Rpms would rise before the tranny pulled and it made noise
