Slight tick at idle in 4.6 Northstar

I bought an 05 StS with the Northstar in June.The car has 90k on it.I have noticed when it is idling you can hear a slight tick in the engine but it goes away upon revving engine.Is this common with this engine with the VVT or is this something i should be concerned about.

Lets wait for Bruce and Kevin to stop by.  Where is the noise coming from?

I will try to get a video tomm as im off work.Well when you take off that drivers side engine skirt or whatever that plastic cover is called it seems a tiny bit louder so i would guess coming from drivers side of engine.I have had lifter noise before and it dont really sound like that.

Ok, VVT is on the passenger side.  Look at your waterpump belt and tensioner pulley.  The pulley can be worn out.

Take a 3/4 inch hose about 3 feet long, put one end to your ear and touch around the engine listening to where its coming from.

Be careful not to get hurt

@KHE

Hi Kevin, what do you think about this noise.  He said the noise was coming from the drivers side.  I asked him to listen around with a hose  (the guru's trick) but have not heard back.

I am not familiar with this engine yet.  Thx, I hope the crossover job is underway

It sounded like the fuel injectors to me but I don't have any experience with that engine/application so I am reluctant to post/comment.
