BodybyFisher
I would attempt this but only have a 96 manual. @Cadillac Jim has a 97 manual and if he gets time maybe he can have a look in his FSM Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
Cadillac Jim
I think that the 1996 and 1997 were nearly identical (I was told that when I bought the car) and haven't seen much to contradict that, but I do believe that the 1997 FSM is better about electrical diagrams in some cases. Here they are as TIFF files uploaded to Caddyinfo: 1997_Rear_Electronics_Bay.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_1.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_1_Cont.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_2.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_2_Cont.tif Note that Relay Center 3 is Deville only; Seville/Eldorado has a different figure. 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_3_Deville.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_4.tif 1997_Rear_Realy_Center_5.tif Note that Relay Center 3 is Deville only; Seville/Eldorado use a different figure. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. BodybyFisher
Thanks Jim, the reason why I was hesitant was because my 96 was useless for working on a 98. 97 may well be the same but what do they say 'one bitten, twice shy"? Cadillac Jim
I'm done now. Please excuse the non-flat pages and the fact that there was too much variation in exposure to force the Relay Center #2 drawing to B/W, etc. I was trying to make another appointment. If you want better drawings, let me know.
