Chris Miller
I am going to test oil pressure and wondering what is good on these? And what suggests needing to replace oil pump and or pick up tube oring? Thanks
Cadillac Jim
According to the FSM, the 2007 ESV minimum oil pressure spec depends on RPM and is specified for a hot engine, i.e. the temp gauge reading where it usually stays when driving normally. The numbers are 1000 RPM, 6 psi 2000 RPM, 18 psi 4000 RPM, 24 psi I would look at the oil pump or pickup tube if it took too long for the oil to pick up when refilling after draining the oil. Or, if the oil light came on with hard maneuvers when the oil was at or above the Add mark on the dipstick. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
