Back in a Cadillac, 2000 Eldorado

Recommended Posts

After 6 years driving a Benz, back in a Caddy, feels good.

Really clean 2000 Eldorado ESC in Diamond Whilte. The pearl really shows in the night image.

Had to drive 120 north of Ft Lauderdale to find a nice one,

KHE, Mike (Body by Fisher) and Ranger should all remember me, I had a 95 Calypso Green Eldo before.

nice find.

The 95 was very nice.

Mine looks alot like your new one but 2001.

Yours looks to be a gold wreath package judging by the wheel caps.

Mine is a silver package

2000-2002 are identical, except for the 02 collectors edition.

The wheels are later model DeVille wheels, no optional package on this car.

I too enjoyed the pleasure of a Benz (1986 560SL) until last month; health issues convinced me I could no longer get in and out of a small car anymore. The Benz was a delight to drive, but did lack the comfort and convenience of the big Cads. I also have a 2000 Deville (Diamond/Pearl White) smile.png and a 2007 DTS, Black in the fleet which I expect will be the last cars I'll need.

Once had a guy driving a Lexus sedan approach me while we were stopped at a traffic signal and tell me I would never go back to a Cad once I drove a Lexus. Nice car the Lexus, still small interior, and it sure does strongly resemble a Honda - - - and several others! I'll always prefer the space and comfort the Cads continue to offer. I grabbed the 2007 DTS, last of the big ones, because I knew that down sizing and CTS size cars were soon going to be the largest vehicles being offered by GM.
Friend has model/color like yours and he added the gold trim ornaments and a matching vinyl top; really a beauty.
Best of luck with your new ride!

Thank you Mike & Steve.

I have to say the Caddy does offer more comfort and drives better "to me" then my Benz did.

Same power ironically. 275 hp 4.2 liter on the Benz vs 275 hp on the 4.6 Northstar.

Both are 4 cam 32 valve all aluminum V8, but the MB has VVT intake cams.

Just one question. How are the door panels?

That has been my biggest peeve with the eldos.

Too cheap for the size of the doors.

They should absolutely have set them up like the deville. Never had a deville panel fail yet. Any Eldo I have bought or worked on the door panels are always damaged. Now they are very difficult to find

Door panels on this one are good, My 95 did have issues with broken retaining clips.

Judging by the dash, and rear seat I'm guessing this one was garaged quite a bit

so the sun didn't damage as much as is normally seen.

Boy I wish my eldo was that nice.

Thank you, it wasn't easy to find.

But they are out there if your patient enough.

I've been looking for a nice Diamond White Pearl Eldorado for years.

The entire 8 years I had my Calypso Green Eldo I would see one

and wish I had it. Funny how fate (sometimes) works out.

Thanks Mike, it is a nice tight example, unmolested and well taken care of.

I had the dealer run the warr history and it had the GMPP extended warranty until 2010.

And the case half seals were done while in warranty at the dealer, so one huge job done.

Wheels are off a 2005 DeVille

I hate 4 doors, so no chance I'd buy one.

Very nice.

I tried another eldo, just like yours but I missed my Devilles, so I bought another.

Keep it going. Share some more pics.
