I gave the car a much needed bath and took some more pictures to display the available fender clearances.

As much as I like those Pony Mustang emblems, they just don't look like they belong on the Eldorado.....

I ordered some Caddy logo lenses and ground the ponies off of the stock center caps.

if I remember correctly, the lenses came with either 56MM or 64MM size options. However, I could only find the black ones in 56MM (which is why I needed to use the OEM Mustang caps due to their tapered shape. 

I had to trim a hair's width off of them to get them to fit. ... There..... Much better..

This is an awesome post, I have a 93 Eldorado 4.9 and have had the DTS 17 x 7.5 wheels and the Polished aluminum sts 17 inch wheels. Learned alot about fitment from this post. Interesting thing was the DTS tires which were 235/55/17 with a height of 27.2 inches actually cleared and looked pretty good. Im trying to stay away from 114.3 wheels like the mustangs because of all the hoopla about that .7 on an inch difference breaking the lugs. The wheels and tires do look great on yours. Here is my car with both the wheels:

Googling forums I also realized that the 18 x 7.5 2006 dodge charger with 24 mm offset and 5.19 inch backspace fits devilles/dhs so I assume for my Eldorado any of the 20 x 8.5 inch charger, 300c or magnum wheels with 5.19 inch backspace or more should clear even if it sticks out past the fender more.  This isnt my car, just some pics I found of the DHS:

Love the wheels, Mike. Understood about the internet chatter over 5-114.3 pattern. Grand Prixs use Mustang Wheels all the time. Some for racing. No issues and years of experience. Still, I understand people wanting to stay away from them.

Trivia: Rent-N-Roll in Little Rock orders and sells the 5-114.3 wheels for their 5-115 customers and argue that they are the same pattern. It did me no good to disagree with them.

Problem: after installing my big brake upgrade, the 18" Bullitt style wheels don't fit.

The problem is a raised ring just behind the spokes. 18" wheels typically fit over 14" brakes, but the factory rim said "no".

The raised area reduced the inside diameter to just 16".

Time to "bite the 'Bullitt'" and order the 18X10 wheels that I have wanted:

With minor fender lip mods, I think I could run 10.5" wide wheels in the front and 11's or 12's in the back. However, those wheels are expensive in the offsets I would need to keep them under the fender and off of the suspension. I belive that 10" wide wheels under all four corners will provide the footprint I need for racing, as well as provide room to lower the car and keep from rubbing the fenders.... In the 18 X 10 size, I really like the specs of the 2005 up Mustang offset. 

Each manufacturer has their own variation. The OE Wheels brand is a quality product and the technical assistance and sales staff are top notch. Here are their specs for various 05 up Mustang style wheels.

This wheel would fill 3.85" of fender space between the mounting surface and the inner fender lip.

My 8.5" Bullitt style wheels, by comparison have a 6.75" backspacing and would fill up 2.5" of fender space between the mounting surface and the inner fender lip.

The 10" fills up only 1.35" more inches of outpacing towards the fender lip.

This should give me an option for 1/4" flat spacers in the front, if desired, and 1/4" flat or 1/2" hubcentric spacers (with longer lugs) in the rear.

I should be able to place the wheel in the best possible way.

Tire widths that are possible with a 10" rim are:

255mm ( if stretched)

265mm

275mm (my favorite)

285mm

295mm

305mm (if squeezed)

My goal is 275/40's in all 4 corners; however, I already have 255/45's so I'm going to have to stretch them- even though I don't like that look.

I needed to make sure that there would not be a clearance issue, so after selecting the wheel style I wanted, I sent Josh Doe at OE Wheels the picture of me measuring the backside of my Bullitt wheel and asked if he would measure theirs. He agreed and needed me to give him about 45 minutes to go to their warehouse. He called me back after he had done this for me and said that their wheel in that style and size had an inside diameter of 17". That was great news and GREAT customer service! WOW! Thank you, Josh! You have earned my business!

They style that I chose has been a favorite since I saw my first 2015 Mustang back in 2014. I loved it in machine face and was obsessed with it in chrome. Just so happens that they have been discontinued and are on clearance. WOW. I now own a set of wheels that I have actually had dreams about!

Plenty of room between the spokes to show off the C5 Vette calipers and 14" Shelby GT500 rotors. Agressive styling. Kind of reminds me of the Corvette spider wheel.

These wheels will help me win races at the track and trophies at the show.

I'm excited. Can't wait for them to arrive.

The wheels arrived fast (and during a rain storm). Two were damaged, but OE WHEELS took care of me today without hesitation and put a replacement order in the works.

I don't know if these wheels would clear the factory strut wothout doing the same upper mount inboard move with upper camber bolt outboard move like I did, but I know that it worked beautifully with the Grand Prix struts. I have about the same room that 05-18 Mustang owners have who run the same spec 10" wide wheel up front. I could mount 275's or 285's without rubbing:

As a bonus, I now have room for Brembo brakes if I should choose a future upgrade over the C5 calipers.

On the rear, when the suspension is fully extended, the upper A-Arm makes contact with the inside of the wheel rim and the tire clearance would be tight by the shock tower. I need about 1/4" more clearance. I have three options:

1. 1/4" wheel spacer.

2. Shorter shocks

3. Suspension limiter

For now, I'm going to go with an adjustable suspension limiter. Later on, I will replace the shocks with the same brand and model- just an 1" to 1- 1/2" shorter.

18X10 wheels in all four corners with 275/40ZR18 tires. My search for a suitable performance wheel and tire package is finally over. I am finally satisfied.

I lost just a little bit of steering, so I may add 1/2" hubcentric spacers with longer studs. It'll help fill up the fender lip overhang and will give me close to a full lock-to-lock turning ability.

I know you don't want to do it but I am just inquiring.  18 x 10 in the back but could an 18 x 9 in the front help?

18X9 in the front would be an easy fix for fitment issues. And 245/45's would have the same rolling diameter as the 275/40's in the back. But this has never been about what's easy. -LOL.

18X9.5 wheels and 255MM wide tires have always been my minimums for this build. 

18x10 wheels with 275-285MM wide tires have always been my goals.
