Cadillac Jim
Monroe still makes OEM shocks for the 1954 Cadillac, including their part number MA700 for your car. If you need a replacement fill unit, they offer their part number AK18. The fill unit is for one side so you will need two of them. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Cadillac Jim
I believe that the equivalent of the "Delco Pleasure lift" is the Max-Air, part number MA700. None of the others are air shocks. Monroe lists the shocks linked to in Texas Jim's post as specifically for the 1954 Cadillac Series 62. I see two of them for $60 on the USA Amazon.com web site: http://www.amazon.com/Monroe-MA700-Max-Air-Shock-Absorber/dp/B000C55SZK Amazon lists the AK18, which turns out to be a hose replacement kit that you will need when switching to Monroe shocks, for $13 (I think that you will need two but I'm not sure now): http://www.amazon.com/Monroe-AK18-Air-Shock-Accessory/dp/B000CD5QHM If you need a new air pump, Amazon also offers a replacement for $120: http://www.amazon.com/LIFT-25804-Air-Shock-Controller/dp/B000CFO05E The manufacturer is Air Lift, not Monroe. This kit includes everything you need to install the air pump in a car without an air suspension, but you should be able to hook it up to your existing wiring. Be sure and use weatherproof splices and/or seal up the connections well.
