The Lone Star Corvette Club will have their annual classic at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend.

See hundreds of Corvette's on display under the grandstands.

I'd drive down but I'm busy this weekend. And, there's no 2014 Corvette on display.

I think I'll go fill up the car and check the tires.

Seriously, I don't think I would want to drive a pre-production exhibition model. Those can be true prototypes or they can be skin-deep, and some of them are hand-made chimeras of different cars, not all pieces of which are from the same year or even model or marque. For example the original show samples for the XLR seem to have been Corvettes with modified Seville/Eldorado drivetrains and a hand-made body and partly functional interior. The show cars may be prototypes but are more likely 2012 Z06 models modified to apparent 2014 Stingray appearance, interior, and look of the engine bay.
