The Cadillacs will be racing today at Long Beach, starting just before 5 PM Central Time.

2013 Long Beach Grand Prix

Exclusive live coverage of the 2013 Long Beach Grand Prix Presented by Kia.

For the eighth-straight year, the Pirelli World Challenge returns to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and the ‘Roar by the Shore.’ Only the GT and GTS fields will compete on the 11-turn, 1.968-mile temporary street course.

Welcome back to the Pirelli World Challenge at Long Beach Presented by KIA! We are 30 minutes from turning the lights out for the second standing start of the season.

The weather has improved dramatically since this morning's GTS qualifying session. Currently we are sitting at a sunny 65 degrees with a breeze from the southwest at 12 mph.

The Flag Parade has begun. Cars will be entering the circuit soon for the presentation lap.

Cars have been released from the pre-grid for the Presentation Lap.

We are counting down to the start! The field is making its way through Turn 11 to the front stretch.

We are scheduled to complete 31 laps or 50 minutes, whichever comes first. Provided we run the full complement of laps, our winner will travel a total of 61.01 miles around the 11-turn, 1.968-mile street course.

The Five Minute board has been displayed. All non-essential personnel are clearing the grid. We are getting closer to turning 37 cars loose.

Two minutes until the command to start engines is given.

Pace car lights are on.

The command has been given to start engines!

All cars are running and are departing the grid for the formation lap.

Front row in each class: Sofronas on pole, Figge outside pole in GT. Lee on pole, Gleason outside pole in GTS.

The GT leaders are taking their places.

Five Seconds.

GREEN!

1 Figge(GT) gets a huge jump into one.

1 Skeen (GT) gets around one of the Cadillacs into turn one.

1 O'Connell (GT) gets back around Skeen and is right on the bumper of Sofronas.

2 Gleason (GTS) may have a problem.

2 Skeen (GT) back around O'Connell and trying to challenge Sofronas.

3 Pobst (GT) pulls into pit lane.

3 Pappas (GT), Esayian (GTS), and McCall (GTS) to serve drive-through penalties for jumping the start.

5 Pilgrim (GT) is on the move getting around Skeen for fourth.

5 Curtis (GT) will be given a black flag for not heeding drive through penalty.

6 Curtis (GT) has reported to pit lane for his penalty and will not be issued a black flag.

6 Lee (GTS) has put close to two seconds between him and second place Cunningham.

7 Figge has caught up the the end of the GTS field and is starting to work traffic.

8 Cunningham (GTS) is working to close the gap to Lee.

9 Figge (GT) gets held up in traffic through Turn 2 and 3.

9 GT top five: Figge, O'Connell, Sofronas, Pilgrim, Skeen. GTS top five: Lee, Cunningham, Aschenbach,Baldwin, Davis.

11 Figge (GT) starts to open up the gap slightly to O'Connell.

12 Klenin (GTS) is warned for using the exit of pit lane approaching Turn One.

12 Toppe (GTS) is smoking down the back stretch. The engine may have let go.

13 Bushey (GTS) is reported to have made contact with a wall out on course.

14 Aschenbach (GTS) overtakes Cunningham for second in class.

14 Ende (GT) sets a new race lap record.

14 Ende's lap was a 1:22.080.

15 Kenin (GTS) has made contact with the barrier inside of Turn One.

16 YELLOW!

16 Figge leads O'Connell, Sofronas, Pilgrim, Welch in GT. Lee lead Aschenbach, Cunningham, Baldwin, Davis in GTS.

17 The field has caught up to the safety car as clean up continues.

17 Ziegler (GTS) will get the waive-by to take the spot at the back of the field.

18 Klenin's (GTS) BMW has suffered severe damage on the front end, however the driver is out of the car and uninjured.

19 Klenin's car is currently being removed as the field passes under the flag stand behind the pace car.

19 One lap to green flag racing this time by the flag stand.

20 Lights are off on the pace car. We will be going green next time by.

20 Figge (GT) will lead the field to green. Lee is the leader in GTS.

21 GREEN!

21 Cunningam(GTS) gets around Lee going into one for the GTS lead!

21 Lee (GTS) has a suspension failure! The former GTS leader is out of the race between Turn Nine and Ten

22 Figge (GT) has held onto his lead, but O'Connell is in the hunt through Turn 11.

23 ASchenbach (GTS) tries to get underneath Cunningham into Turn One, but can't pull off the pass!

23 Aschenbach, is able to pul back up on the rear bumper of Cunningham through Turn 9.

24 Aschenbach (GTS)gets under Cunningham into Turn One for the class lead!

24 Bell (GT) is slow on course at the approach to Turn Nine.

25 Toppe (GTS) has gotten his ailing car to the pit lane.

25 Aschenbach (GTS) sets the fast lap record in class with a 1:28.056.

26 McCall (GTS) is being asked to let Stout (GTS) back around as there was a pass under yellow.

26 Figge (GT) is in the wall!

26 Figge locked up the brakes going into Turn One and sits in the runoff.

O'Connell (GT) seems to have some smoke comming from the right front wheel.

28 Gigliotti (GTS) made contact with the outside of Turn One prior to the incident with Figge(GT).

29 Top Three in GT: O'Connell, Sofronas, Pilgrim. Top Three in GTS: Aschenbach, Cunningham, Baldwin.

30 Race control will be displaying the white flag this time by. The field follow the pace car around for the last lap.

31 WHITE FLAG!

31 O'Connell's car is smoking heavily from the headers! He has stopped on course under yellow!

31 Sofronas will win tow in a row in Pirelli World Challenge!

CHECKERED FLAG! - GT Top Three: Sofronas, Pilgrim, Skeen. GTS Top Three: Aschenbach, Cunningham, Baldwin.
