Shatzy
Recently I've had to set the temperature as high as 81 -82 to get the system to deliver warm air to the passenger compartment. Normaly a temperature setting of 74 - 76 was adequate. Can someone tell me where I should start trouble shooting? Thermostat has never been changed in this vehicle. Thanks much. Ranger
Start by pulling the DTC's. I'd suspect a stuck air mix actuator.
BodybyFisher
If no DTC's try reverse flushing the heater core, sediment can clog them and reduce their output temp. Not sure if the 2000 is the same, but you can remove the hoses from the two heater pipes and extend them over the hood and flush till it runs clear in both directions.
