Left signal turns on hazards

Recommended Posts

I am a new member looking for knowledge

I have a 2003 Escalade EXT and have recently noticed the left signal switch turns on my hazard lights about 80% of the time.

I am curious to know if this is a common problem; and if there is a " quick fix."

Hi! I understand you to mean that when you turn on your left turn signal, your hazard lights go on? That does sound like a short between the systems.

I would "hazard" a guess that this is in the hazard warning switch circuitry. I would try turning the hazard warning lights on, then off, making sure that the switch was completly "on" then completely "off". If that doesn't do it, check the connector on the back of the hazard warning switch. Beyond that, I would start with a code reader that reads body "Bnnnn codes as well as Pnnnn codes" and see if the modules are detecting anything.
