Paul S Posted March 18, 2013 Report Share Posted March 18, 2013 I am getting this message on my '99 STS and the dipstick tells me the level is at max. Could this be the sensor located on the housing where the oil filter attaches or should I look eswhere? I haven't found anything in factory shop manual as of yet that refers to this display. KHE Posted March 18, 2013 Report Share Posted March 18, 2013 The sensor where the oil filter attaches is the oil pressure sender. The sensor that causes the CHECK OIL LEVEL to b displayed threads into the oil pan. It has a large hex (maybe 1-1/4" in diameter) and has the electrical connection in the center of the hex. scott y Posted March 21, 2013 Report Share Posted March 21, 2013 Just for the hell of it, while you're in there, you might want to check the torque of the oil filter adapter bolts, and maybe even switch up the "O-Rings" in there too.
