Thecapnisin
When going down the road at operating temperatures, while giving just a small amount of gas the engine seems to stumble or missfire, and sometimes even will completely stall after you take your foot off the pedal. When I unplug the EGR valve it works fine, but when I plug it back in the troubles come back. Already tried replacing the EGR valve but it had no effect. Any suggestions? BodybyFisher
If the EGR were not working, you would get a code. You need to run down that code first Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm

Whatever is causing the egr to not work right i think is preventing it I don't know where you got this description for P080 but this is an OBD1 car (prior to 96), P080 in OBD1 is P080 (E080) ....................................................... Fuel System Rich See this link http://myweb.accessu...90/dtcobd1.html Check for a bad FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR See this thread, there is confusion about this code it seems the manual discusses it as a TPS idle relearn not complete, I attached a diagnostic tree http://www.cadillacf...-p080-help.html Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
BodybyFisher
The EGR in this engine has a purpose. The lack of EGR causes a slightly LEAN condition. See this post by Al Cline (Cletus284), a NS Powertrain Engineer and you will see him referred to here as the Guru, genuflect when you hear his name http://www.impalassf...ad.php?t=267130 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
