Jesse R Smith
Hello folks, I have a 95 Deville 4.9L that has sprung a nasty coolant leak. It pours out from beneath the engine near the crankshaft. The radiator will empty out in about 2 minutes. Any thoughts on what could break in that area? I had recently bypassed the A/C compressor with a shorter belt... maybe caused increased pressure and ruptured a hose or pipe? Thanks for any input! rockfangd
first thought would be water pump. Second would be the pipe from the water pump. with a massive leak it shouldnt be too hard to find GM FAN FOREVER Nice, clean, luxury= fine automobile
BodybyFisher
On the 4.9 there are a few coolant pipes associated with the water pump and they rust. Do a search here, we have posted photos of the 4.9 cooling system. If you dont find photos, maybe we can find the photos again and post them Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
