Cadillac changed from memorable names like Eldorado, Seville, 60 Special, to 3 letter names to change with the times, and to sync up with the competition. cdgrinci Posted July 3, 2012 Report Share Posted July 3, 2012 I'm thinking that the XTS is for lu"X"ury touring sedan; I don't remember if I saw that some place or how I derived that. As in others: DTS Deville Touring Sedan, STS Seville Touring Sedan, XLR eXperimental Luxury Roadster, etc................................though since the Seville STS would seem redundant, I always thought as the Seville STS as the Seville Sports Touring Sedan. Members of the North Texas Cadillac & LaSalle Club have worked hard to remove the Mustangs from this area. Please come every month. Now, here are the "official" Cadillac designators. CTS = Car Too Small STS = Still Too Small ATS - Actually Too Small XTS = Extremly Terrific Sedan DTS = darn Too Small ETC = Extra Tight Coupe HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM...
