I GOT A NEW DTS!

Well folks i feared the end of the DTS and figured my next new Caddy

would of been a Escalade because I didn't wanna be stuck in a "tiny"

CTS or a new xts or whatever alphabet soup name the new Caddy was gonna

be! My 07 DTS had 62k troublefree miles So I went shopping for a new DTS

while I was in Daytona.

I must say pickins were pretty slim as far as colors as only a few tan,

silver or white were left.

I wanted black or crimson pearl (red). No dice!

Even with my GM employee deal they were all Lux 3 with all the toys for

almost $60k msrp and the GM deal was around $45k.

So I checked out the used 2011s they had at Lloyd Caddy in Daytona.

Lux 3s with ALL the goods $32k ! What a deal.............

I got a 11 Lux3 Crimson pearl, tan guts, all the goods and only 15k miles

for $32k. They gave me $15k for my 07 DTS.

Yea the 2011 is a ex-rental but there wasn't a scratch on it.

Sorry no pics yet as the car is in Daytona and I'm back in NY !

Congrats on the new DTS. Glad you found the Cadillac you wanted. That gives you another 5-7 years to shop for the next one!

Congrtulations. Last of the "Big Ones"! I have the 2007, Black, top of the line, (whatever model that is) and I love it. However, the

ride can't compare to my wife's 2000 DeVille, running Goodyear's. I think a lot of comfort was lost when I had the dealer install

Michellin tires on the 2007; noisy and harsh ride.

Steve M. Correction:

I goofed - - again! Too many cars, too many years under my belt. The tires on the 2000 DeVille are Michelin 225X16 Symmetry and they ride smooth and quiet. The Michelin's on the 2007 DTS are a different series, and I'm not happy with them at all.

Last of the "Big Ones" eh? We'll see, how many times have we heard "Last of the xxx???" over the years. :D The more things change, the more they stay the same... ;)

Hey Scott F.,

Make sure you're seated, and look at today's gasoline prices. I'm pretty comfortable with my prediction that we won't see many of the

"Big Ones" coming off the assembly line any time soon. Have you had a chance to view the new Fiat, 2 seater that's been shown on TV?

You're right on there, however demand will always rise to the top. Think of the cars of the 80's..large and extremely power starved, the 90's power returns with style and size, the 2000's and so on. The Big 3 will always find a means for demand.

What about an electric full size DTS that doesn't use gas?

WARNING: I'm a total car newbie, don't be surprised if I ask a stupid question! Just trying to learn.

Cheers!

Thanks guys..........Sadly the car is in Daytona with sarge whilst I freeze to

death and take care of business in NY so no pics yet.

My local Caddy dealer has a new DTS lux 1 for $39k.

They only offered me $9k trade for my 07 on a GM employee deal on a new DTS

so the $15 I got suprised me. But yet again I was buying used for used and

I know the dealer has a LOT of room to juggle the numbers.

I looked at the new one but it was that fugly tan color and I wanted black

or Crimson Pearl this time as my 07 was white.

Congrats!! I heard that gas prices will be around $3.00/gallon before summer is over. I paid $3.52 last night locally. Drive it like you stole it!!
