2006 CTS wont start after refueling

Here's a guess (the problem a little generic to really know) but maybe you have a leaky injector(s), and when you shut down to refuel, excess raw fuel enters the cylinders and you engine 'floods'; repeated cranking eventually clears the excess fuel and the car then starts. You might try holding the accelertor 'to the floor' when trying a restart, after fueling, and see if that doesn't let the car start more easily (of course quickly take you foot off if it fires).

You need to check for codes, is your check engine light on? You have an 06, go to a shop or parts store that can extract your DTC codes and post them here. I do not recall hearing of this problem before here

This could be your EVAP valve, see this thread for some additional info, while this is not the same car, its the same problem

You need to check for codes, is your check engine light on? You have an 06, go to a shop or parts store that can extract your DTC codes and post them here. I do not recall hearing of this problem before here

No codes stored......no check engine light.

Only happens when I refuel...any other time it starts fine...seems burn alot more gas then normal....

Well the Check Engine light finally showed up...Went to auto Zone .....Got the code .P0496
