My Cadillac Seville STS

Chris_Austria

Recommended Posts

Hi!

Here are some pictures of my Seville STS. Bought it with 85k miles and had a lot of work to do. Still not finished :(

I did the head gaskets, EGR Valve, radiator, brakes, rust on the doors, oil cooler-fuel-transmission cooler and break lines, starter, battery (wasn't too easy to make a european battery fit), some painting, power steering pump....

The car has been built in the year 1999 and was exported to Europe. First time it was on the road has been November 2001. Now it has 95.000 miles.

here with my 2002 bmw 330i, also a nice car to drive but less comfort

and thats how you can put it a european battery (100ah, 730a)

Looks great. I do like that interior. You sound like you have a terrific attitude about the car -- "What needs doing? Get that done, and enjoy the Cadillac!" Perfect.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you!

I don't like it if something doesn't work or look like it's supposed to... :)

I have also added a HID Kit, but except of this and maybe some other rims for the summer I'd like to keep it all original.

Will 8x19 with a offset of 40mm and 245/40/19 or 255/40/19 tires fit front and rear? Not easy to get rims with 115/5 in europe!

I never had to do so much work on a car like on the Cadillac (the price was okay and I knew I have to do some things), but I think it's worth it. A very nice car and pretty unique in Austria!

It's not possible to mention everything I've done yet, but the only expensive thing I have to do now is the front lower control arm with the bushings. This part would cost 600 Euro (860 Dollar) so I'm searching for this part on the internet, but didn't find a shop like Rockauto that would deliver it to Austria :(

I also could use someone with a snow shovel! Went to bed at 1 am and at 8 am I found what you can see on the pictures.

Global warming cannot be denied, but why is it getting colder and colder just where I live?? :(

But otherwise... when I think back to my childhood... with so less snow most people didn't even recognize that it was winter ;)

I think NY has a similar climate to the place where I live. We now have about -1 Celsius, a month ago it was -14 Celsius for some days.

I really liked the weather when I was on holiday at California, Nevada, Arizona... Hot, barely humidity and sun all the time :)

But having lots of snow can also be fun, I loved driving around on mountain roads with my all wheel drive when the weather was really bad!

WOW, you are definately missing the strut bar, get one in a scrap yard, I had one on my 96, I'd be SHOCKED if they stopped using it. You will feel the difference

It was eliminated starting with the 1998 Seville and the Devilles lost it in 2000.

Good Info Kevin, now that you mention it, I believe that some members have pulled them out of the scrap yard and attached them with positive results. Do you recall?

The only 1998+ Sevilles that had a factory installed strut tower brace were export models. The part # is 25653157 if a local GM dealer is willing to search for inventory. They will be hard to find.

You got it Scott. Now the smaller the size of the photo you post on Photobucket, the smaller it will appear here. Some photo editing programs will allow you to save your JPGs as smaller files which equates to lower resolution and lower quality but the internet browser does not require high photo quality files. As you see your photo is 1024 by 768. You can get away with 800 by 600 or the lower 640 by 480 resolution which will equate to smaller files with decent quality. Experiment with different resolution. Try to keep individual files less than 100K for speed and reasonable size. You can adjust resolution in your camera also but then you are stuck with a low resolution picture. Keep the intended use of your pictures in mind when you take a photos, if its only to be used here, you can get by with lower resolution photos. Hopefully I didnt just bore you to death
