CTS rear brake pad change?

Recommended Posts

Hi all new here-

Im going to be changing out my girlfriends rear pads on her '05 CTS (v6) and wondered if there were any gotchas or things to be aware of on this car. I have done about 50 or so brake pads changes so Im not new to it, just on this car.

If anyone has a PDF of the service manual , etc, Id be willing to take a look at that as well.

thanks

Doug

There is a small arrow or diamond in the side skirt that indicates where to place the screw jack. I put the floor jack just behind that along the rail, which seems quite solid. Just be sure you are on the metal and not the trim of course.
