PAUL T
I friend of mine has a 2008 Escalade. When the air conditioning is turned on, all is fine for a few minutes then the passenger side vents blow very hot air. He can shut the vehicle down and it "resets" itself for a while, then does it again. The dealer can not seem, or does not want to figure it out. All other ducts work fine. Has anyone had this problem?
PAUL T
I take it we do not have much of a discussion group yet here?
Riverfurm
I take it we do not have much of a discussion group yet here? I think they might have a motor that controls the temp. blend door. The motor send a signal back to the BCM telling it what position it is in. If the sensor in the motor is sending wrong info the BCM will try to correct it. So that may be why it is going full warm. The tech at the dealer should be able to hook up a scan tool and check (counts) the info from the motor to the BCM. They should also be code set in history. I had the same problem on a Eldorado. PAUL T
I was leaning toward a blend door also, but only having Devilles I was unfamiliar with the Escalade workings. I will pass this on and see if the dealer will find the problem. Thanks,
Cadillac Customer Service
PAUL T, Has the dealership involved our Technical Assistance? sonjaab
I know this answer is late to the party but may help someone else out. This is a common issue on other GM truck forums. You may have one of two issues that cause this. Either a low a/c 134 charge issue or a temp blend door issue. To reset the blend/temp doors: Turn HVAC controls to OFF. Remove the 2 HVAC fuses from the underhood fuse center. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. Replace fuses and connect battery. Turn ignition ON...Do Not start. Listen for blend/temp door movement. If this don't help then have the AC charge checked ! Its funny the dealer don't know of this issue. There are several TSBs out there for these issues! oweckayx
Hello I can see that it is VERY old topic, but there is not much info about failing blend doors. I have tried to remove my actuator and move that flap with hand and on my Escalade 2009 it is still blowing hot air. I do not have A/C filled so I will try that. Actuator is moving correctly so there should be no problem in actuator nor calibration of actuator. Right?
