I remember the best mileage I ever reported for my '96 Deville was a roadtrip from NY - Indiana in Nov 2000. me, wife & 2 tottlers total combined passenger weight ~300 lbs, and 50 lbs of luggage. no AC, of course cruise control, premium gas, 35 psi in the tires, and a very light foot ~60mph (I remember I wanted to proove the 29mpg hwy to be unattainable even under perfect conditions)

I got 29.something or maybe better mpg. As I still do now, I was using Techron and Marvel Mystery oil in my gas, and I always used synthetic oil in the crankcase.

Not sure what else that Techron does besides cleaning the Sulpher off the sending unit, but I am due for another bottle in both my GM cars. I have 8oz of MMO in each of the cars fueltank now.

I have a 1994 Concours and I get 26-26 on the highway. However, I rented a 2008 STS from Avis for a Route 66 cruise this summer, sun roof, xm radio, dvd navagation, loaded, anyway, I know you probably won't believe this, I hardly believe it myself, but we go 34 miles to the gallon on the highway out of this car. Granted, I wasn't driving 75-80 most of the time. I got 30 miles to the gallon on a 2005 de ville, on trip to the Grand Canyon in 2005.
