Poobah
The code groups you've listed are as follows: ABS Antilock Brake System (Chassis Code) DDM Driver's Door Module (Body Code) IRC Integrated Radio Chassis (Body Code) SDM Sensing and Diagnostic Mudule - Includes airbag crash data (Body Code) TTM Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel Module (Body Code) The ones I'd look into re: your Service Stability System error are: C1282 Yaw Rate Sensor Bias Circuit Malfunction C1288 Steering Sensor Circuit Malfunction The "U" codes are network codes (mostly loss of communication codes). These are most often caused if your battery has been disconnected or if you have a bad ground someplace. I would clear them and see if they reoccur. Hope this helps. Happiness is owning a Cadillac with no codes.

And, do you have any complaints, such as the radio not working, the air bag light on, or one of the other lights? Does the car start in second gear? Are there any messages on the DIC? The Service Stability System message probably comes from the ABS codes, but that's it. I've seen a menagerie of codes like this from power washing under the hood or under the car, a bad battery cable or ground, or starting the car with a low battery or bad battery cable. Usually when you have a low or bad battery or a battery cable problem you have several codes complaining about battery voltage below 9 Volts, and I don't see that here. I see a lot of complaints about the radio that aren't common. My guesses: a) You just had the car detailed, and that operation started with a power wash. The radio was just serviced or changed, possibly to an aftermarket model or a replacement from a salvage yard, by someone other than a dealer. I would follow Poobah's advice and clear all the codes from the A/C panel and see which ones come back. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Dadillac
The Service Stability System is coming from the C1288. Your steering wheel position sensor is bad. Replace it and the message will go away. Don "Modern warriors saddle iron horses of chrome."
Babydon
I was wondering what history meant because ALL the codes says HISTORY. Does that mean I should clear and try again? Sorry guys, never done this before. No lights on cluster are on (airbag, engine etc...) The Service Stability SYS was the only error I got and it hasn't come u since that day. Cadillac Jim
When a fault condition has been detected since you turned on the key, it is listed as Current. When a code is listed as History, that means that the fault wasn't detected since you turned on the key. That may mean something is intermittent, or it may mean that the conditions for setting the codes, such as running at less than 1/4 throttle for 5 minutes or some such, haven't been met since you turned on the key. A History code can cause a fault light or the check engine light to turn on. Some of them will go off after driving the car a few times if the fault isn't detected again, while the History code will remain in the computer for much longer. That's why I recommend checking the codes after driving, before turning the key off. If you turn the key off, then on again, or you walk up to a parked car and turn on the key and read the codes, you can't tell what's current. I check mine once a week or so when I'm stopped at a traffic light. JasonA
I would clear the codes and not think twice. Like I said in the other thread, I got a steering wheel position sensor code once before, but cleared it and it never returned. This seems to correlate with Cadillac's recommendation that unless it's a persistent code (indicating a bad sensor), to not worry about it. Maybe it's a small software glitch/issue or something.
