WarrenJ
A wise man. What do you think he is referring to? Creation theory? He refers to all things unreasoned and lacking evidence for support. Creationism would surely be included. Only a scientifically illiterate person would claim the Earth is only 6,000 years old. And one of those is running for President! Regards, Warren EDIT: Refers to post #13. There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

Cadillac Jim
The Syrians didn't say much about the Israeli strike in Syria on September 6, 2007 in what the Israelis call Operation Orchard. Follow the link for the Wikipedia page, which summarized international reactions and cover stories from all comers. Syria is the last remaining major bastion of the Baath party, the Islamic world's branch of the Nazi and fascist parties from the 1930's. These groups are characterized by a fundamental belief that the people cannot govern themselves and xenophobic racist views. That doesn't mean that there aren't lots of good people in Syria, Iran, N. Korea, etc. or that we shouldn't be concerned about their welfare, regardless of their political views at any particular time. We had a President that privately espoused Creation Theory in 1984-1988. He's still around. My belief is that differences in the USA after the next election due to who is elected will necessarily be subtle, not profound, because reality limits the big policy changes that can be made in a short time. Long term effects are another matter, and recent history tells us that about 10 years is the longest a strong leader can run a country before things start getting sticky; that's why we have elections every two years and change Presidents and usually parties every 4-8 years. I think that there have been good cases made for the Universe being at least 14.5 billion years old (the reciprocal of the Hubble constant), and the Earth and Moon have been solid bodies with crusts for about 4.5 billion of these (there are moon rocks that old and some Earth rocks). Life on Earth seems to be about 1.5 billion years old. Distilled spirits have been here for about 150 years. Northstars have been with us for about 15 years. The V-series has been here for about 2 years. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars. Northstars, distilled spirits, V-Series; difficult choices. Regards, Warren There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. Cadillac Jim
The latest narrative on the Earth-Moon origin that I have seen posits that the two bodies collided in a glancing blow before either had a solid crust, and that both lost their form in the collision and the Earth captured the iron core of the Moon. This theory explains why the Moon is so large but has no iron core (no magnetic field, lower average density than other terrestrial type large bodies in the Solar System). If that is what happened, which is older or younger? -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
