I'd say the 110 is a better looking car. I don't see the purpose to a top speed like that other than braging rights. I'd be much more concerned with the 0-60 time and acceleration of the car.

I'd be more likely to get struck by lightening than see the Veyron, but there is a fellow nearby who owns a Gulf Gas station that has an H1 Hummer, Noble M12 and 360 Modena. I've actually seen three seperate 360's all within the same 30 foot area of this major road in town, so I suppose it's a fairly common car, also heavily produced as well. But my god does the 360 sound great. I guess that's what you get from an extremely well performing V8.

Good video Mike, now if we could just see the Cadillac Sixteen make a run..............

It probably wouldn't do much more than 200+mph . . . but, darn, it would do it in Cadillac style!

Warren

The alternative is only whether the crisis should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved. - Ludwig von Mises

I posted this for the sheer technology v12, 4 turbos, 10 radiators, active suspension, wind tunnel tested. Everytime I watch that video, my heart races, that is what I was sharing, not a debate on what car was better looking or faster 0 - 60 or cheaper... Quite frankly, I am surprised that there are not more comments of the sheer quality of that video, the sound and the excitement they create, I think its quite incredible. One design flaw and its airborne at that speed. I wonder how much the wind tunnel testing contributed to its look, if I am not mistaken the rear looks like and Aurora

Lets face the facts, this is a one off, at 850,000 pounds. This is not an everyday driver. There are tons more practical cars

In a word, awe.

Yes, the Top Gear boys do a hell of a job at giving us a ride. And, yep, the Veyron engineering is stunning. As James May (the "slowest" of the three current Top Gear presenters prior to his 253mph run) stated, its faster than an f1 car, yet has air conditioning, radio, air bags, luxurious appointments ..... all the comforts we crave. That is astounding. Did I mention faster than an F1???

And the drama and quality of the presentations are often to be applauded, although some of the segments this season have been a bit lame. No doubt the near fatal ~300mph jet car accident that Richard Hammond (now the fastest of the three) experienced had some effect on the current season.

And of course there is the award winning article that Jean Jennings wrote of her experience driving across Florida in the Veyron. And I don't mean Miami to Palm Beach ... more like Panama City, Apalachicola, Vernon (ever heard of that?) as well as all the real people she met along the way. Its a great read and worthy of the accolades. http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/exoti..._bugatti_veyron

I believe we currently are actually seeing the 06 season of Top Gear as the show is not targeted to the US market, in fact the tall goofy guy :-) (Jeremy Clarkson) often speaks ill of anything American (although he really likes the latest corvettes). Anyway, here is his take on the CTS-V - http://youtube.com/watch?v=O-YRKND7eEM . Don't mind the critiques, he hated the M5 for the most part also, uhhh until he found the "come to Jesus" button ...

Along those lines, keep your eye (or tivo) out for a program on the Speed channel called "Victory by Design". Its hosted by this guy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alain_de_Cadenet and they go to great lengths to give you the driving experience in some of the most rare and stunning examples of the Marques they have profiled (Ferrari, Maserati, Aston, Proche, Lotus, Corvette, Ford ... ) . You ride along in front, in back or just watch him blow off to the horizon in front of you and its miked so that you are getting the whole aural experience along with a bit of his commentary now and again over the din. TURN IT UP! I get so tired of the crummy guitar/drum riffs that accompany almost all car shows on US tv, I want to hear the car!. And that goes for most televised races... I wish I could tune the constant yakking off and listen to the race, not the insipid commentators. Anyway, when watching Victory by Design cranked up to 11, you can amost smell the exhaust.

just my $.02 ... :fighting0030:

Imagine this, that Veyron engine is a Volkswagen...

If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.

By the way Mike, it's not a V12. It's a "W16". Basically, they took two, V8 engines and put them together to create a W16 or 8VV8 configuration. That car has 16 cylinders.

Yes you are correct, I typed v12, he does state v16 in the video, I recall at the time when I wrote it that I was aggravated that anyone could put this car down given the SHEER technology.. I wasn't expecting anyone to consider it a STATION CAR :o Nor was I asking if any other car was better, the energy created in the video gets your heart pumping...

V16. I saw that. Close but no cigar. It's a W16.... :P

By the way, he says "...so what you end up with is a 16 cylinder engine...", he doesn't mention the type of banking for the cylinders. Picky, picky.... :D :D :P

Video of the Shelby, but it does take a long time to load. A bit ways down the page you see a faster loading video of the car doing a drive by, if you can actually see the car, it goes by so fast..
