Did you miss the memo that Cadillacs only go 100K miles? :P

I wish there was a good way to communicate to the buying public that you CAN drive these cars for 200K if you CHOOSE to.

I have seen and dismissed that memo many times.

Likewise. And I expect this old Seviile will survive until I can locate a two year old CTS coupe in 2012.

Not a major milestone - but here it is....

Congrats! (300K KM = 186K miles or so)

Go to http://www.wolframalpha.com/ and enter "300km in miles" in the query box. Also, make sure to watch the demo on the home page.

It appears I've got about 66,538 nautical miles on the green machine. That's far more satisfying than the real 76,570 land miles. :D

It also appears that's about equal to 3.1 times the equatorial circumference of the earth. Who knew?

Go there. Check it out.

Regards,

Warren

Rookie shot as my CTS was just below 65K at Sonic and just above when I got home.

The Green "S" symbol shows that the 5-speed Automatic transmission is in "Sport" mode.

Nice you did that for the son.

Since the first week in July I've lost 45lbs. All tests came back negative. No explanation. The doc gave me an anti-nausea drug and I've been able to eat normally now (pancreatic cancer runs in my family; tests came back negative for that). The doc said to put on weight anyway I could. On an every-other-day basis I've sampled just about every flavor of Haagen-Dazs. Doctor's orders! It's great to fight the battle of the bulge from the other side. :D I'm up 7.5lbs.! But I got zits!

Warren

As of today, I project rolling over 200,000 miles (173,795 NM or 321,869 KM) in October, 2010.

Certainly not a record achievement.

Pictures and a summary of my Excel data will be included.

Warren, I did not know you were not feeling well, to lose 45 pounds, at least you can't blame last years steak dinner. This year, our birthday steak is on me at Pace's in Hauppauge.

This was taken in my old 1993 STS a couple of years ago. The odometer was switched to imperial units at that time (211283 kilometers).

Hehe, you do keep tract of things don't you Jim.

Guilty.

The PC spreadsheet was designed for folks like me. Many thanks to Dan Bricklin and his (Apple II) VisiCalc software (circa 1978).

Congrats! What's your goal? Another 100K?

Don't have an answer other than -- for as long as I am physically able to do the routine maintenance items in my garage. Or, identify an independent shop that will follow my instructions to the letter.

This may not seem like a milestone at first glance, but I took this on Tuesday. Exactly one year to the day since I registered and started driving my car, and it hit 25,000 miles that I have put on it since I got it on that day. What are the odds of that?! It had 142,956 miles on it when I started driving it.

Sorry about the crappy pic..it was taken with my not-so-great cell cam, and it was really sunny.

Y'all have me thinking of keeping my DTS longer than I had originally planned on...

I have 92,000 on it now..and was planning on trading it at a little over 100,000.

I may just keep it till at least 150,000...or maybe more...not sure at this time...but I am leaning that way.

Yeah, when I bought my 1997, I was figuring on keeping it 12 years, which was up in 2009. I'm thinking 5 to10 more years at this point.

I suspect that the end will not come when rust or an accident damages the car beyond redeemability or parts are no longer available. I almost went over to a Pontiac G8 with the CTS-V V8 in it before my senses returned. I have a powerful yearning for the Chevrolet Volt, and I figure that this technology, electric-electric hybrid with auxiliary generator and external charger, will become available in a Cadillac real soon now. When those get out there used and depreciated I may run into one I can't resist -- but it may replace my wife's low-mileage Pontiac, not my Cadillac. But whatever it is, it must offer a major advantage in at least two of performance, handling, and cost of ownership, and be a "best of breed."
