  1. If it were only that easy....LOL At least on MY car it isn't and evidently on JohnnyG's car also. I just went to the garage and pulled up one side of the rear seat... it was easier than in my 2006 but I would not classify it as EASY by any stretch of the imagination... it took both hands and a lot of GRUNT to pull it up. Hope I didn't pull a muscle in my left shoulder.
  2. LOL... that may be what the owners manual says... but it isn't that easy. Especially the first time the seat comes out... LOL
  3. Both of my 2006's were really hard to get the back seat cushion up the first time... After that it was a lot easier. And you are right... the lower lip of the seat has to be pushed IN and then the cushion lifted up. I haven't removed the back seat cushion on the 2011 yet.
  4. The picture with the BIG logo is one of the front floor mats... not a trunk mat. I was just trying to show the nice detail in the logo. My trunk mat is the factory original, black carpeted mat... and has DTS Platinum printed on it in silver.
  5. A friend of mine (Brian Stanley) works for Ecklers Corvette in Florida... They are Lloyd Mats... I ordered them thru him... Call him at 1-800-284-3906 The ones I got are the LUXE type... They are a lot thicker and more luxurious then the ULTIMAT. I highly recommend the LUXE if you want real nice mats. I think they are really nice mats. They are NOT cheap, but I don't regret it a bit... they look good.... LOL
  6. I was in London KY last week during the trip. Have a friend that lives there.
  7. I also put Weathertech shades/air deflectors on it. I have always hated how if the window is down even a half inch, rain still comes in. Now I need dark tint on the windows. . . . . . . .
  8. I debated getting the script... kinda wish I had. Heck... I may get another set and rotate them monthly... LOL
  9. Someone had taken the original floor mats out of the car and replaced them with some crappy, cheap, Auto Zone or Wal-Mart specials. I ordered some nicer ones... , , . . . .
  10. Very nice El Dorado.... Thanks for the pictures.
  11. You also need one of those little flat topped caps... like they wore back in the 20's and 30's... http://www.hatsinthebelfry.com/product/belfry-mcdowell.html
  12. The same thing happened to me and it was the radio. With the car off, the driver's door opened, the radio display would shut off; however, it would still be playing. You couldn't hear it via the speakers but if you opened the trunk and listened very closely you could hear it playing. There was some sort of an issue within the computer that didn't allow it to completely shut off. Battery would drain over night. The only fix was to buy another radio. $400 plus bucks later that issue is fix.....for now.....until another "electrical" issue arises. Cadillac has gone to hell in a hand basket. Everyone that I know that has a Cadillac in recent years has had some sort of "electrical" problem. Heated windshield wiper fluid over heating and causing a fire, headlamps flickering on and off up to simply going out, interior lights coming on for no reason and not going off....the list goes on and on and Cadillac doesn't care. I'm switching to Lincoln after this (my third Cadillac). Good luck with your Lincoln... You may want to join a few Lincoln forums and do some serious reading before getting one, but that's up to you. I just traded my 2006 DTS Performance with 140,000 miles on it for a 2011 DTS Platinum. I bought the 2006 DTS new and it was pretty much trouble free for 8 years and 140,000 miles. I never had a radio problem,. I had heated windshield washer fluid and used it a lot... never a problem. I never had a flickering light problem. I never had the interior light come on and not go out. Maybe if the "Everyone I know that owned a Cadillac" would occasionally take them in and have the latest GM updates applied to all the computers and have various TSB's performed, they wouldn't be having all the problems. That's what I did with mine.... IT IS CALLED MAINTENANCE.... Do it and you will have lots less trouble.
  13. Brian... I am not the Jim you were referring to, but I think your understanding is correct. All of the Cadillacs I have had, will only RAISE UP when you turn the key on. They will GO DOWN at any time weight is taken off the rear suspension. The other Jim...
  14. The way I do pictures to forums is... Get a free Photobucket account... Upload your pictures to the free account... Make a few folders to organize your pictures if you want to... When you move the mouse over a picture, a little gear will pop up on the upper right corner of the picture. Move the mouse over the gear and a menu will drop down... click on GET LINKS... click on the bottom one...IMG Codes Then come to the forum and do a PASTE and your FULL SIZE picture is then here.
  15. Just my opinion, but I think it looks better with the side mounts...
  16. Just my opinion...but I like it a lot better WITH the center caps installed... Without the center caps, it looks like something is MISSING and not quite COMPLETE...
  17. $576,,,, http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?partnumber=19300076 $553.... http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1379932&parttype=7584&a=r.search.yahoo.com%2BSearch%2Bfor%2BSuspension%2BStrut&ck[iD]=0&ck[idlist]=0&ck[viewcurrency]=USD&ck[php_SESSION_ID]=vingogs2f0cmo0eoriddq12dg3
  18. Don't want to start an argument... but the Magnuson-Moss act says that only an after-market part that is not SEMA certified and then causes a problem will void the warranty and only the part of the warranty that part is installed on. For instance... if I modify the Transmission Control Unit, than have a transmission problem. The dealer can claim that "MY" modification caused the problem and refuse to fix the transmission under warranty "AND" make a note in the GM Online computer system that they use so I can not take it to another dealer that might overlook what I did to it..... but he can not void the rest of the warranty on the vehicle. If my NAV system was also broken... he would still be obligated to fix the NAV... because it had nothing to do with what I did to the transmission. But you are right about it bordering on fraud... I was prepared to bite the bullet and pay for anything that broke due to my modifications of my vehicle.
  19. I am not advocating this .... but.... On the late model CTS "V".... you can get a 2nd ECM and a 2nd TCM and put the tune on those and keep the stock ECM and TCM totally stock and switch back as forth whenever you want to.
  20. The end where the hose attaches to the engine is what we call the "BOLT WITH A HOLE IN IT"... You should remove it.. clean the clog from it and then reinstall it. If you just push the clog back into the engine... it will eventually stop up again...
