  1. the mechanic removed the rotten catalytic converter bolts by heating and pressing them out. no hammering or drilling.
  2. I left in a huff, after the mechanic told me he was going to drive my 05 caddy SRX on the road at 25 mph and lock up the brakes to test the ABS. no one is going to thrash my caddy.
  3. a criminal mechanic wants $600 in labor to replace the rear calipers, pads, rotors. that includes an hour to bleed the ABS. I said the abs bleed procedure is not required, especialyl if air is introduced downstream of the abs modulator. he wants me to sign a dicslaimer. meanwhile i just completed one side and it blead easily. I replaced every line on this vehicle years ago and never did the abs bleed, and i'm still alive. is this mechanic trustworthy?
  4. all of the bolts rotted on my 05 SRX catalytic converters, the flanges are solid. Is there a fix for this? i'm currently holding things together with C-Clamps for about three years. Are the bolts pressed in, and simply hammered out? thanks
