  1. Looks like a real good job on that repair.Enjoy your road miles.
  2. I like the look without the covers, but I prefer the car without sidemounts and have a single spare on the rear or no spare at all. These are small cars and and I think the spare anywhere on car the just clutters up the classic lines.Mine are staying on my car just because they are already there and it would be a lot body and paint work to eliminate them. Those spinners you show would look real nice with your wheels and add a nice finished touch.Very nice..
  3. Nice bling Bruce..I also think it needs the caps.I'm not crazy about the baby moon look of the caps.I think they need some ribs or something to embellish them, but they at least make the wheels look complete.Adding the spinners would probably help too.Looking good.
  4. One option to the side mount issue I have considered,is tire covers.Like the ones use on SUV's that cover the outside spare.Another idea is to different wheel covers or blank discs painted body color.I think the painted discs might look ok.Would have to see it to yea or nay it.
  5. Puzzle is correct.Part of the fun of this hobby (at times)is doing the detective work.
  6. Is your car on leaf springs or using the Chevette coils and trailing arms.If it's on leaf springs and the center support bearing mounting is suspect,it would seem reasonable that the suspenion might be in a bind situation if your leaf spring front mount is not on the same pivot point as the center support bearing. I'm guessing the red circle on your diagram is the problem. Off topic ,but my son moved out to the denver area two years ago and just loves it out there,I need to visit him sometime. Rick
  7. Terrific looking wheels that would show well on your car. What also needs to be considered is tires for them ,mounting and balancing as that will dramatically increase the investment .I've had this same discussion with a co-worker who is restoring two Desoto's.He has sent me Ebay links with period correct wires .However ,most need sand blast, powder coat, tubes, tires and adapters.I don't feel that makes them cost effective. He is going to lend me a couple of his wheels to set against the car to see how they might look.Probably next weekend, not sure yet.I'm fully capable of machining my hubs and axles but, think it better to use adapters if this is a path I would take.So many options. Rick
