  1. I've seen similar kits for Corvette; they suggest removing these kits for normal road use. I believe that the deflectors are 'low hanging fruit' susceptible to damage during everyday driving.
  2. I don't know if this helps or not but here's a link to Strut Masters: 1997 Cadillac Deville Air Suspension Conversion Kits | Struts | Suspen – Strutmasters
  3. Perhaps a bad temp sensor? Your thermostat has tested correctly so it should warm your engine to the set reading of, pretty close to, 180.
  4. It may be as simple as low fluid, though that could be from a problematic leak. Any sign of leakage?
  5. "Politics, greed and self-interest" pretty much sums up the above video. Still hoping we get this new team into F1. I would love to see, if GM is committed, at what they can come up with to contribute as their technical prowess is unfathomable when they really want to be.
  6. Since I've left following NASCAR (quite a few years now), I've picked F1 to be my primary series to follow. Hoping for Haas to get better (they really haven't), here's hoping that Cadillac and Andretti can first, get in, do good and make my viewing even better in the coming years.
  7. Wow, that's some high aspirations, kudos to him; it sounds like his price will be north of 150k (but still a bargain, when you're getting a 'supercar'). Wishing him best of luck in his pursuits, and yeah, I'm a little jealous. 😍
  8. Well, you buddy won't be seeing a ZO6 for a couple of years unless he's already on the waiting list and got on it early (and his dealer gets a good number of allocation). Currently they are building one ZO6 per hour per current two shifts (that's approximately 16 a day).
  9. Linky, no workie; does this mean that this facility is recycling batteries? What are they separating?
  10. This guy is smart and a very good mechanic..............but, for some reason I just can't listen to his diatribe. It isn't just this video, I've seen others by him, and he just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe I shouldn't post negatively but perhaps I'm not the only one. I have however checked the 'like' box for Bruce forwarding this video for others that may find it useful. Again, apologies (for my mini diatribe).
  11. Don't put a 160 degree thermostat in your car as it will prevent going into closed loop. Your engine will run rich and fuel mileage will suffer because of it.
  12. This is one of my favorite vintage Cadillacs and remember my neighbor having the same vehicle (even the color) when I was growing up (I was twelve or thereabouts). Ah, sweet memories. 👍
  13. I think the Celestiq looks great, but could look better IMO, if those rear lighting treatments were in clear lights (turning red when engaging the brakes).
  14. This is Cadillac's halo vehicle and it's not about the price in this case (at least not for launch). I'm pretty much going to call it gorgeous.
  15. Sorry about the *smurf*; I was just quoting the Cadillac engineer. Mea Culpa, lesson learned.
  16. "It's a bad-*smurf* vehicle"; yep, pretty much. Nice video Bruce, thanks for posting. Not my type of vehicle for everyday use, though I rented an Escalade ESV on a trip to Orlando (from Charleston, SC) and no complaints. 20 to 22 mpg at interstate speeds, comfort level at '10', and even though she was a 'big girl', handled well.
  17. It is exciting to see Cadillac re-entering the ultra-luxury arena again. It is also exciting to see regular reveals to spur interest and provide continuity till launch. While this vehicle will be of a limited production, and quite pricey, it should be a fine representative of what Cadillac once was and where it is going again.
  18. I can only imagine that GM is expecting synergies, from the investment into other production models, as 81 million dollars will never be recovered from the low volume CELESTIQ (even at the anticipated premium price). Perhaps the announcement should have read that 81 million dollars will be invested in a revised Global Technical Center where the CELESTIQ will be hand built.
  19. I love the enthusiasm of the Engineer; I'm hoping the 'launch' goes well. Seems that the '23 is already sold out though, and no or very few deliveries have been made. This is not a time for buyers to have to wait and wait as there are too many BEV's hitting the market at once. The Lyriq offers much and is also a very reasonable priced vehicle (though I fear the 'dealers/stealers' and markup).
  20. Quoting "Down Periscope" (Kelsey Grammer): "She's not the youngest girl at the prom but she'll still turn a few heads". Bruce, she's a beaut; nice!
  21. Bruce, orders for Lyriq are to open on May 19th. Have you heard when a configurator will be available on the Cadillac website. Also, any word on when the first Lyriq's will be released (as I've heard production has started and some have been completed but are in embargo for quality testing).
  22. Bruce, I agree that it is a shame no one has had the joy of driving this unique automobile, however at this point in its life, perhaps it needs to be conserved and remain a fine original of species and reside in someone's collection.
  23. Short video (six minutes) of the Lyriq on the assembly line: http://players.brightcove.net/1050888044001/bNJ5EPvlNA_default/index.html?videoId=6301364126001
  24. Does the sound go away after a time; it could be a leaking lifter that is losing oil when not running (and requires a time to refill the lifter to get quiet again).
